PARKLAND FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

FRIEND’S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Criteria for consideration

A student eligible for assistance must be a Parkland resident attending as an incoming High School  Senior and intends on pursuing higher education.  Applicants must provide at least 50 hours of community service to the Parkland Library and have a Letter of Recommendation from a Parkland Library Staff Member. 

Needs a weighted grade point average of 3.0 or higher, be active in extra-curricular activities, and submit an essay that describes the importance of community libraries and how the library impacted your life or what you learned/gained from your service at the library.

 

Selection will be based on strength of application.

The Parkland Friends of the Library Scholarship provides a onetime educational assistance for $500. One scholarship per year can be awarded at a maximum of $500.  Scholarships are not renewable.  Previous recipients are not eligible to re-apply.
