The Parkland Friends of the Library supported The Mary Help of Christians and a local community that was in need. December 2018 The Parkland Friends of the Library was informed that Mary Help of Christians had just remodeled a trailer for the purpose of being a community resource center for the children in that neighborhood. They had bookshelves but the only problem was they had no books!

So the Friends of the Library went into action and reached out to our generous community. We had such a great response from our donors that we were able to host a holiday party for 20 children. Each child was able to receive a toy for the holiday, an “I love my library” t-shirt, and then given the opportunity to choose books from our Used Book Sale to fill their community bookshelves!

These are some of the ways that together we as a community we can collectively support one another.  It was through our community donations and volunteer hours that allowed the Friends to provide Community Enhancement projects to enrich the lives of others. We love spreading the joy of books, reading, and community values! Thank you for your donation and support!
