Our mission is “to promote and support the services of the library and to build a strong relationship between the library and the community.”

Welcome to Parkland Friends of the Library!

Parkland is a special place that we are all so proud to call our home. Our atmosphere of country elegance includes beautiful parks, multipurpose trails, and bike paths; robust athletic programs and civic organizations; an equestrian center, community center, and amphitheater; and well-maintained neighborhoods that foster a small-town feeling even amid rapid growth. We are rated the safest city in Florida and our schools are ranked among the best in the state.

In short, there is no better place to live in Florida than Parkland.

One of the true gems of this great city is our Parkland Library. In keeping with the strong community spirit at the heart of our city for more than five decades, our library sprang from the vision of one of our own residents.

Carolyn Marks founded the library in a concession stand at Quigley Park in 1988. Her love, care, and commitment inspired so many others to get involved – and over the next quarter of a century our library grew into the wonderful community resource we enjoy today.

The Parkland Friends of the Library exists to promote and support this cherished community resource. We raise money for the valuable programs and services of the library, host events to connect community members with the library, and work as partners with the City Commission to plan for the future growth of the library.

Check out the Parkland Library to see for yourself why so many residents believe it is the heartbeat of our community. Take advantage of the wide variety of programs offered there – and, of course, the books too… both printed and electronic.

I also encourage you to support the Parkland Friends of the Library by making a donation or attending an upcoming event. Together, we can help make sure our library remains the very best that Parkland can offer.

Thank you for being a Friend,

Doug Kruse
President, Parkland Friends of the Library
